What is IATF: International Automotive Task Force (Association) ISO: International Standards Association

Yes they are different organizations. It differs in the standards they prepare.
IATF has produced the standard for Automotive part manufacturers only.
Who can get the certificate according to the IATF 16949 standard?
Passenger Cars, Light Commercial Vehicles, Heavy Trucks, Buses, Motorcycles are covered by automotive. These vehicles include those who produce parts or produce original spare parts and their suppliers. (Automotive part manufacturers not entering the market that are not original spare parts)
Example: Bus door enters supplier. The supplier who gives the lock system to the door enters. The supplier that gives the lock nut enters. Coating wrapper enters the nuts. If there is software at the door and the program is written to the supplier, the software is covered by the supplier.
In other words, all suppliers in the chain can receive certificates.

Who cannot get the certificate according to the IATF 16949 standard?
Industrial, Agricultural and Road Vehicles (Mining, Forestry, Construction, forklift, tractor, work machine, ship, plane, etc.) are excluded from this scope.
Those who are not manufacturers cannot be certified. Those who buy and sell auto parts cannot be certified.
However, as the 16949 standard is a very useful standard, manufacturers of tractors, construction equipment and other machinery require white goods (MAIN MANUFACTURERS) to apply this standard even if they do not want them to have a certificate. For this reason, we organize many trainings in all sectors that make mass production.

Why Is IATF 16949 Changing?
Changes and innovations in the Automotive Quality Management Standard indicate the following issues that have recently come to the fore in the automotive industry:
    • Requirements for safety-related parts and processes.
    • Advanced product traceability requirements to keep up with current changes in legislation.
    • Requirements for products that require software.
    • Warranty management process related to the use of NTF and Automotive Industry Guidelines.
