ISO/TS 16949 AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURERS QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

ISO/TS 16949 is a standard including requirements belong to automotive sector, which was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) with support from ISO/TC 176. Eight IATF member automotive manufacturers (General Motors, Ford, Daimler Chrysler, BMW, PSA Citroen, Volkswagen, Renault, Fiat) demand from suppliers to implement this standard to present quality products to their customers worldwide.

ISO/TS 16949:2002 is appropriated as a new standard which is intended for automotive manufacturers and its industry suppliers’ quality management system by getting together North American and European automotive standards.     

ISO/TS 16949 is generated with the harmonization of technical specifications for automotive industry suppliers and based on ISO 9001:2000.

ISO/TS 16949 doesn’t carry strict rules to the current quality management system implemented by an organization. This standard requires implementing the quality management system according to customer’s requirements by taking foreground the customer specific requirements
